Dominic is an employment law expert with significant experience in complex commercial and employment litigation matters. Dominic acts for companies, boards and high net worth individuals across a range of industries – including financial services, insurance, engineering, mining, manufacturing, construction and professional services.
An experienced litigator, Dominic has acted in proceedings in all Courts within the NSW and Federal jurisdictions, including proceedings in the NSW Court of Appeal, the Full Court of the Federal Court, and the High Court of Australia with particular specialisation in the enforcement of post-employment restraints of trade, protection from misuse of confidential information, and breach of fiduciary duties.
Dominic also has broad experience across complex general employment litigation matters including executive remuneration, sham contracting, underpayments, compliance with Modern Awards, adverse action and unlawful termination.
In addition to his litigation practice, Dominic is an astute and strategic thinker, Dominic regularly advises businesses on employment and workplace issues including:
- conduct of internal investigations
- restructuring and change management;
- reporting and compliance obligations, including compliance with modern awards and obligations under the Fair Work Act 2009;
- remuneration and employee incentive schemes;
- protection of confidential information and trade secrets;
- preparation of employment and contractor agreements;
- termination of employment;
- auditing and investigations conducted by the Fair Work Ombudsman; and
- responding to unfair dismissal and general protections claims in the Fair Work Commission.
