About Darren

Darren has been with Gillis Delaney since August 2013.  He was admitted to practice in 1995 and, since 2014, has been a NSW Law Society accredited specialist in personal injury law.  Having practised in insurance law for nearly 30 years, Darren has a broad experience acting for individuals, insurers, local governments, corporations and other organisations primarily in the following practice areas:

  • Personal injury.
  • Abuse claims.
  • Property damage.
  • Public liability.
  • Insurance disputes.
  • Subrogated recovery claims.
  • Indemnity disputes.
  • Insurance policy coverage.
  • Misleading and deceptive conduct and other claims under the Australian Consumer Law.
  • Commercial litigation.

Darren also acts for corporations and company directors in the defence of prosecutions brought under the Work Health and Safety Act.

His experience extends to include acting for clients in wills and estate disputes.

Darren prides himself on giving accurate, realistic advice to clients with an emphasis on alternative dispute resolution at an early stage to minimise costs. Where litigation is unavoidable, he has a very high success rate in the Courts.
